trying out some new stuff

I tried out a few of my new things this afternoon and I’m pretty impressed!

After breakfast we cleaned up the house a bit and we’re working out those bazillion piles of laundry.

While I was working on lunch I munched on my new hummus.

This stuff is goooood!! And I had high hopes because I love Hatch Chiles, it’s practically all I ate when we went to New Mexico. It was a little spicy, but not much. And very creamy. Excellent!

I had a big dollop with some Kashi 7 grain crackers.

For lunch we tried some of the new soup.

This was really good too! A little sweet, but good. We had this with grilled cheeses (peperjack cheese for me!) and some fresh mango and strawberry. Oh and also some sparkling water with a little POM.

The fruit was so beautiful that I had to get a close up!

Off to run some errands! Adios!

And now we’re back to today

Now that I’m all caught up from yesterday, here’s whats going on in our house this morn…

Got up around 7:30. Had a great 8 hours of sleep, so I decided to get up and make some breakfast. Before breakfast I made some more green stuff. This time I tried some Green Vibrance. I also mixed it with OJ (still not ready for mixing it with water, haha).

This one definitely tasted like grass. Even with the OJ. It was drinkable and I feel great though! I feel energetic and in a good mood, so I give it a thumbs up!

Then it was on to breakfast! I used some organic pancake mix that I got from Whole Foods. I added some chocolate chips to the batter and made some chocolate chip pancakes! They were soooooo good!!

I put a tablespoon of maple syrup on mine, but I really didn’t need it I discovered. It was plenty sweet with the chocolate chips. Oh well.

Close up.

Onto the rest of our Sunday! Don’t know exactly what we’ve got going on, but there will be lots of laundry involved! We seriously have no clothes left to wear and heaps and heaps of laundry to do. I haaaate laundry!

recap of yesterday

I’m going to try my best to recap the post that dissapeared from yesterday morning (seriously, wordpress?!).  I don’t remember it word for word, but I’ll try.

So yesterday was the Zoo run at the Fort Worth Zoo.  It was hard!  (that’s what she said)  It felt like most of the course was uphill.  Seriously one part was so steep that my legs wouldn’t run anymore and I had to walk up it.  It kind of was made up for at the end though, becuase the last 1/2 mile was mostly downhill, so I cruised toward the finish line without too much trouble.  It wasn’t my best time (39:18).  Because of the walking up the hill + my shoes kept coming untied :/   But that’s certainly not my worst time, so I’ll take it grudgingly.

Before I went to bed Fri night I prepped a breakfast cookie (I cannot for the life of me remember whose blog I found this on. Thanks whoever you are- it was seriously delish!). Then when I woke up I pulled it out of the fridge. It was still a bit mushy, so I popped it in the freezer while I hopped in the shower. When I was ready for it I pulled it out of the freezer and it was perfect! I was able to break it up into pieces to munch on. Tasty!!

Then it was off to the race. Parking was a nightmare. I had to park and walk a half a mile to get to the race site. It ended up being a good warm up, so it was okay. I was there super early anyway. Then it was run time. The race went through the zoo and through a few neighborhoods around the zoo. I got to see some flamingos and a zebra or two. The rest of the animals were snoozing I guess. The flamingos were all like “What up peeps?” They were watching us go by.

after the race I had half a banana and some fritos (they were there and they were free, so in my belly they went. healthy or not it’s hard to resist free stuff, LOL). No pic, I didn’t have my camera with.

Then it was onto some grocery shopping. Since I was right by 30, I hopped on and cruised to Arlington to Whole Foods. They didn’t have any Chobani (except strawberry) and I was pissed. I got another brand to try instead. We shall see if it lives up! While I was there I grabbed a Turkey, pepperjack, and avocado sandwich and a bag of chips, then I munched them in the car on my way home. I didn’t eat much of the chips because I had eaten the fritos earlier).

I also got this drink. Synergy.

dscf1510

It was…okay. It’s fermented Chinese tea, so it smelled a little funky. The first sip was weird because I smelled it before I tried it. Don’t smell it, just drink it. I warmed up to it after the second sip. I drank about half, it’s a big bottle.

Then I was at home unloading my goodies. Here is the new stuff that I got to try.
dscf1512

Then I decided to bust out some of the wheat grass that I got. It’s supposed to be super good for you.
dscf1513

I’m a wuss, so I decided to mix it with some OJ instead of water.
dscf1514

Down the hatch!
dscf1516

The verdict?

Tasty! It tasted like OJ, not dirt! lol, and I felt great!! It gave me a great boost of energy!! I will definitely be getting more!!

Then I tidied up the house a bit, then I relaxed and read some Twilight (it’s only my fourth time through the series).

Then the rest is continued in my other post from yesterday!

saturday mania

My earlier post dissapeared!  *kicks wordpress*

I don’t have the patience to re-type it.  It was long.  I’ll try again tomorrow.  boo!

That wheat grass that I had earlier made me feel AWESOME! I love this stuff, I’m definitely going to be getting more!

For dinner we had blue cheese burgers. (lean ground beef, a little breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and a couple of ounces of blue cheese. mix. grill. eat.)

and a no pudge brownie for dessert. (like I haven’t had enough chocolate today!)
